I Am a Slacker!!!

I am a slacker when it comes to this blog. By the time night time rolls around I am too pooped to pop.
I ahave good intentions but you know how that is.
We have been burning the candle at both ends here in the wonderful beautiful Villages. I sure can't remember what we have been doing but I know we have had a wonderful time.
We had a water leak and Bud worked really hard to find it because it was in the sprinkler system. But he made his three trips to Lowe's to buy the parts and we didn't have to call a plumber. I told him with all the money we saved I could buy two new chairs. We also had to get a new battery for the car.
The Blesings from Petersburg are here staying with friends of theirs from Pompano Beach and so we have been running as usual. Sunday night we went to Cody's Roadhouse, the guys played golf yesterday at Tarpon Boil, we went to Margueritaville last night to eat and see my favorite preacher man, Norman Lee. He was fabulous.
Today the guys played golf at Hawkes Bay and tonight we are going to Taverna Red to eat and see Dunning Shaw.
I am now Bud's official secretary. He is one busy person. He is playing golf this week, on Saturday we played El Santiago, Monday, Tarpon Boil, Tuesday, Hawkes Bay. Wednesday, Mira Mesa, Friday at Hilltop and I haven't found out where we are playing on Saturday. Add that to his fixing up projects, which he is in great demand for and I hardly see him.
We ordered our new carpeting and he almost has the cabinets in the bathroom done.
On Thanksgiving we went to the neighbors for a nice dinner and then we all went to Dominic's

Another Week Gone

Whoever said that retirement was boring should follow me around for awhile. OMG, it is always something.
This week I worked on Monday, so busy.
Bud golfed at El Santiage on Wednesday and at Silver Lake on Friday.
We have kept Lowe's afloat again by paying off what we owed them and getting ready to order new carpeting, hopefully on Tuesday.
Our bathroom and bedroom look marvelous.
The JUGS went to Katie Belle's on Wednesday night for "I Love This Bar" night. Anna had a little too much to drink and she sure made the evening. What a character.
The guys went to the Old Tyme War Movie show.
On Thursday we shuffleboarded and I played three games and won two. Bud won two and we took 15 out of 24 as a team.
Friday I worked. We finally hooked our WII up to the computer and now have Netflix. They sure have lots of movies to choose from. It was like the blind leading the blind but we did it.
Saturday we golfed with the neighborhood at Briarwood and we did fine for the first five holes and then we fell apart. Oh, well we can't win them all. We went to McCall's Tavern for lunch and then we just stayed home and I made a pumpkin cake. Boy, it was good..
Oh, George Bush was here in the Villages today. He golfed at Arnold Palmers and then had a book signing. George Micheal Montgomery was having a free concert and there were tons of people there. A good time was held by all.
Today I worked and it was super busy. Bud and some of our friends came in for an early breakfast and they they went to the golf cart parade to participate in the parade for the wounded soldiers and to set another parade record. We don't know how they did but the record was 3,240 and some say there were at least 4,800 golf carts. We'll probably find out tomorrow in the paper.

Too Tired to Blog

I have been burning the candle at both ends and I think it is about to catch up with me. I haven't had time to blog and so I am going to try and remember all the things I have been doing.
Don and Twyla were here for a few days. Us girls (JUGS) spent one evening at Marguertaville and saw Norman Lee. He was way beyond wonderful, we had a great time. Kathy B and her husband Bob visited from Toledo, had a nice dinner at TooJays and gave them a tour. They were impressed to say the least.
We had a neighbor dinner at Fuji Steak House, it was very good and all twenty four of them came to our house for dessert. Thanks to Dominic, who made the cakes.
Work has been so busy, the dreaded snowbirds are back in full force...
We went to one of favorite places, Catfish Johnny's on Tuesday. What a great little place, had a ball. Took Sandy and Ron from shuffleboard and they loved it.
Played shuffleboard and won a few and lost a few, Oh well.
Played golf several times and we now have the distinction of turning in the highest score ever turned in on our Saturday league. Six over..We have golfed at Walnut Creek, Mira Mesa, Chula Visa and one other one, I can't remember. Bud has golfed lots lately, Saddlebrook, Chula Visa, Mira Mesa, Silver Lake and will play Diablo on Wednesday.
He has been fixing Bill and Anna's bathroom and just got that done and then he fixed Carol's kitchen cupboards for her today. He is one busy man.
Anna had a garage sale on Friday and he went and helped her set up, fortunately I had to work.
On Friday ten of us went out for our 44th anniversary to the Fuji Steak House and had a nice dinner and then to see Secretariat. What a great picture. Definitely a must see.
Last night after golf I just crashed and I had a bad night with leg cramps. Today was the busiest day yet so I am just hanging out at home tonight.
Tomorrow is another day...

The Foot Doctor

I went to the foot doctor and got two corisone shots in my feet. So far they don't feel much better but I have to give it chance.
We spent most of the day rearranging our house. We moved the good furniture into the family room and our everyday chairs and TV into the living room. We have way too much company and the living room is much bigger and has a better layout. The family room is long and narrow and there is not much you can do with it.
We have had company on and off all day and they have approved the move.
The guys went to the Old Tyme War Historical movie tonight so us girls were on our own.
We ended up sitting at Denny's and having a ball, laughing and talking. So I am tired and going to bed. Bud is already asleep in his chair.

Great Week

Well, I have been too busy to blog but I will try to catch up. I am still icing my feet three times a day. They are feeling a little better.
On Saturday we golfed with the neighborhood at Bacall and the one guy on our team got closest to the pin. As a team we did great the first five holes and fell apart the last four. We had lunch at Mallory Country Club.
In the evening we went to our favorite store, Lowes and ordered our new bathroom counter top. Bud has been painting and sprucing up the bathroom and today I got new throw rugs.
Thursday we played shuffleboard and I won two games and Bud won one. Next week we are having a potluck before we start. Maybe if we feed our players they will do better.
On Friday Bud played golf with Ray and parred four holes in a row.
On Sunday I worked, same old thing, busy, busy, busy.
Monday I worked and we just stayed home Monday night, had to recoup from the weekend.
Today I went to digital scrapbooking club and then out to lunch with Marguerite. We always have so much to talk about. We went to a new New York deli that was pretty good. This evening we attended the Michigan Club. Since it is so close to Halloween we had a contest and I came in for third prize. I was a bumble bee and Bud went as a doctor. The pair of frogs won first place, they were so cute and the Detroit convicts came in second. The club fixed brats and sauerkraut for everyone. Entertainment was wonderful. Carol Ann sang some great songs.
Now I am watching Detroit 187 and getting ready to call it a night. Foot doctor appointment in the morning.
It has been really warm here and no rain since September. Everything is dry, dry, dry.

Sore Feet

I spent Wednesday morning at the foot doctor. My feet just haven't been feeling right and I can't take it anymore. Well, I guess it is not all in my head. I have a Morton's Neuroma, it is a nerve condition at the bottom of my feet and between my toes. I have to get new orthotics, cortisone shots, etc. At least now we can treat the problem.
In the evening we had a girls night out. The guys went to the Old Time Cowboy Movie Club so we went to Ocala to the big mall and then out to eat the Olive Garden. It was so good...
I have also formed a new club called JUGS. It stands for Just Us Girls. No meetings, no dues, just fun time with your friends.
It has been just gorgeous here, it the high eighties and plenty of sunshine.

The Graves Love the Villages

Thursday we all went to play on our shuffleboard league and Gary got to play. He won two games and they asked him to please move here so he could play all the time. Then we went golfing at Truman and ended up eating Mexican at El Ranchito's. On Friday I had to work so Bud, Gary, Pat and Ray played golf at Mira Mesa and then we all went to the Italian Parade. It was really cute. After that about twelve people came here for our Italian Night Dinner. We had spaghetti and meatballs, spaghetti and sausage, lasagna, ante pasta and Dominic baked us an Italian red velvet cake. We all had a good time and probable will do it again for the Fall Harvest Parade at the end of the month.
On Saturday we golfed with our neighborhood league and they let Pat and Gary play too. Gary won closest to the pin and there was a three-way tie for the lowest score and we won that too. We all went to Orange Blossom Country Club for a late lunch and to divide the money. It made Gary's day.
Saturday night we went to the Orange Blossom Opry and saw a good old country show. We got up really early because Pat and Gary had to leave by six a.m and I had to go to work. We were super busy and by the time I got home, I was too pooped to pop. I told Bud, "Guess what we are doing tonight?" He said, "What do you want to do?" I said, "We aren't doing anything. I am going to crash." And that is what I did. Nothing....
Today I worked and Bud painted our closet. Tonight I could have went several places but I think I will just stay home. It isn't easy getting old...

Pat & Gary are Here

Pat and Gary got here Wednesday afternoon. We headed over to Tony Packo's for their Wednesday FREE chicken wings, all you can eat. Gary said they were much better than the chicken they paid fifty dollars for at Disney World. Then we went to the square for a while and ended up at Perkins for coffee and muffins.
It was a long day....

The Start of a New Week

We were pretty busy at work considering that not all the snowbirds are back yet. But is was busy enough for me. My dogs were barking at the end of my shift.
In the evening we went to Jane's and had dinner and then we went to Spanish Springs to see a movie. "You Again". It was okay, I would say about a five out of ten. They had a good idea and could have done a lot more with it.
On Monday I worked again. Of course, the young girl, about 18, showed up but was sick. I told the boss, "Everytime I work, they either don't show up or they are sick." It is always the same old thing.
Monday night we went over to the square and I got a watch. Mine died and I can't stand to be without a watch. They sell them for ten dollars with two batteries and they last about a year or more. I am certainly high maintenance.
Today I worked in the house, trying to get ready for company. Pat and Gary will be here tomorrow and I had to get the extra bedroom ready and get some groceries.
So tonight the Comcast guy came and fixed our cable box, we were paying for things we couldn't get so he said our box was not working right.
So now I am watching NCIS and getting ready to call it a night..

Wonderful Saturday

I spent the day with my Red Hat Sisters and we went to Ocala to a very fine seafood restrauant and then went to the Ocala Civic Theater to see a play called "Curtains". It was a musical mystery, not my favorite type of play but not bad. Our ladies are so nice, we all had a great time.
Bud golfed with the neighborhood this morning at De LaVista and they won the scramble.Hope we can do the same next week..
Tonight we went to our favorite store on the golf cart and got some paint for the bedroom and some flowers for outside. Lowe's is way too close for comfort..
Now I am getting ready for a big day tomorrow. Sunday at Bob Evans is always a real trip...

First Day Back At Work

Today was my first day back at work. It was as busy as it ever was. While I was gone they really cleaned house, they fired lots of people and lots of people moved on to different jobs, etc. I am sure glad a few of them are gone.
The same customers are still coming almost every day. Oh my, I don't want to go anywhere every single day...
Tonight we went to the hot tub and soaked my aching body. I think I am getting too old to be working, ha ha...Bud golfed at Silver Lake with Ray today and I worked. What is wrong with this picture...?

Getting Back in the Swing of Things

Now that we are back in Florida we are trying to get back to the swing of things here in this wonderful place. We have been greeted by all of our neighbors and we barely got out of the car and they were here asking us to play golf on Saturday.
I spent the day going shopping and running errands with Anna and in the evening we had seven friends over for an impromtu dinner, just hamburgs and soup, and such. We had a great time.
Today Bud worked in the yard and I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and to Sam's Club. We are now stocked up on meat for quite a while. We had leftovers for dinner and are now just relaxing and I am going to go get ready to go to work tomorrow. I hope my feet don't bother me. I brought someting from Michigan with me, poisen ivy. Somehow I got a good dose and for the life of me I don't know how. I have it down my front, back, butt and hips. Sure hope it doesn't start itching tomorrow.
I went to Katie Belle's and got tickets for the talent show, kind of like a Villagers' American Idol. That should be fun, it is the finals..

Busy Week

We spent the week packing and doing all the little things that needed to be done. On Thursday I went to Bingo with Pam and I won $35. That was a good thing.
On Friday we had Matt over for his birthday and Dakota and Matt spent the night. Jen and Rob went to a Tiger baseball game. The boys played video games all evening, so they really enjoyed that. On Saturday we went to Dakota's soccer game, he certainly has improved since last year. But boy it was cold out. In the evening we went to Jason's and Jessica's house for a "Minute to Win It Party". What a great idea for a party. We had to leave early but I heard they had a ball. I am going to try that here this year.
We left the party early because we had to get up at 3 a.m. to leave for Florida. We made good time and didn't have any trouble until we got past Atlanta and all of a sudden traffic just stopped. We never saw an accident, orange barrel or anything and just sat bumper to bumper for over an hour.
So we were a little late getting to my Aunt Pauline's but she had a little dinner for us and then we crashed. The next morning she fed us a good old southern breakfast and then we headed for Florida. And then it started raining, so hard we couldn't see. We took it slow and saw several accidents but we made it.
My boss from Bob Evans called while we were driving in the rain and asked if I could start work on Friday. Oh, my only three days and my vacation is over...
We unloaded the car, neighbors stopped by and then we crashed again for the evening.
This morning we went to our very favorite store first thing. Lowe's always has something we need. Bud hooked up my computer and tried to hook up the TV with Comcast but so far that isn't working so well. Maybe tomorrow will be better.
Bill and Anna asked us to go to dinner so we went to The Hacienda Country Club for their half priced meals. Well, they didn't have enough help and the place was packed so we left and went to Crisper's and had some really good soup. That's all we needed anyway. So now we are just resting and planning the rest of the week. The neighbor guy stopped to see if he should put us in for golf on Saturday but I am going to lunch and a play in Ocala with the Red Hats. Bud might golf if they need a single. The activities never stop and I am loving it.....

Busy Monday and Tuesday

We spent Monday waiting for the guys that put in our new windows to come and adjust them so they worked properly. Then I went to town to change our address and to Deerfield to get some Honey Crisp Apples. They are by far the best apples I have ever had. The orchard owner said they are smaller this year, it was too hot.
Today we went to Wal-Mart to do some errands and then we for an early dinner at the Olive Garden with the in-laws and Diane and Melvin. We wanted to see them before we left. The Chicken Carbonara was the best, way too much for one meal so I am having a lovely lunch tomorrow.
It was beautiful out today, very warm, 90 degrees. The last day of summer in Michigan.

Great Weekend

Saturday was spent with my Red Hat group. We had game day way out on the east side of Toledo. They really went out and decorated the hall perfectly. They had so much food we couldn't eat it all. We played a sponge game, Left,Right,Center and Bunco. We had lots of laughs,it is a really nice bunch of women.
Today we worked on getting things ready around here. I spent a few hours working with my printer, putting in all new ink and now I have a line through my prints. What to do now??? I made Robert and Dakota a birthday card and we went over there tonight for cake and ice cream. Dakota got a new bike and Robert got beer and lottery cards.Dakota got his own hula hoop and he is excellent at it. He barely moves and it just keeps going and going. I tried and it fell to the floor.
Baby Aaron was there too. He is getting cuter everyday and really a very good natured baby. Can you believe he is crawling all ready?

Lazy Days of Summer

I didn't write yesterday as I really didn't do too much so didn't have to say. I went to Pam's and we got Dakota's birthday present and a little gift for the Red Hats on Saturday. I will sure miss running with Pam this winter, maybe I'll just put her in my suitcase and take her with me.
Today I did laundry and then Jan called and we went to lunch in Toledo at Ventura's. I wasn't planning on going anywhere but she said let's go and I was in the car.
Tonight we just watched TV, took a nice bath and played on this computer. This morning I couldn't get my mouse to work. That is so frustrating but I called the computer guy up town and he told me (or should I say Bud) what to do. That didn't really work so Bud played around with the mouse and it had a loose wire. Thank God, he likes to fix things. So now it is up and running. I go into withdrawal just thinking about not having my computer.
We have been watching the new shows like Oprah and America's Got Talent. I will surely miss Oprah when she goes off the air. Her first show was a real tear-jerker. The little girl on America's Got Talent took second place but she was amazing. I am sure she will make a fortune. She is only ten so she has lots of years to succeed.

Another Nice Day

Spent the day cleaning and doing laundry. It was simply gorgeous today. My kind of day. Bud stayed out in the barn all day, doing I don't have a clue what...
We just had left overs for dinner and this evening I have been trying to make a Smilebox for my friends. Sometimes it doesn't do what I want it too. Oh, well, that life...

A Beautiful Summer Day In Michigan

It was gorgeous here today. Just right.
I spent the day at home mostly, cooking and cleaning up. I tried a new recipe for Apple Strudel using zucchini instead of apples.Of course nothing is ever easy for me. I thought I had nugmeg and when I looked it was cream of tarter so I had to go to town. When I got home I started putting it together, started measuring out the flour and oh,no there were little bugs in it. So I had to run to town again. It is two miles to a little carry-out (our only grocery store in BFE) so I had to pay through the nose for some flour. After all of that it turned out pretty good.
Steve went to the Park & Shine at GM Hydramatic in Toledo. He said they had about 2000 classic cars attending.
We took some strudel into Toledo to the in-laws. Now tonight I have been on the computer and Bud is watching TV.
A very relaxing day here in beautiful Michigan.

Where Did The Summer Go?

I am so sorry I haven't written anything for so long. It is just when we left Florida to go home to Michigan we were only home for two weeks and we went back to Florida for six more weeks. I didn't have my computer with me as we were traveling light so I got way behind in my posts and then when we did get home it seemed like we were so busy.
But I am going to try and start writing again. I even like to go back and read what I wrote. I can re-live all my memories and never have to leave my computer.
The first thing we did was to finally get to see our new Great-Grandson, Aaron. He is a cutie pie and they call him Little Man. Well, Little Man will steal your heart..
We took two long motorhome trips with our club. We spent a few days at Don and Twyla's with some of our other friends and had a great time. We spent at few days at Sandy's cottage in Houghton Lake. Pam and Rod from The Villages came and spent some time here.Pat and Gary came from Holly Michigan we spent the day at the golf course and had dinner out. I have spent lots of time with Pam and we have been all over Toledo. One of the highlights was our trip to one of our Red Hatters mansion on the Maumee River. One of the biggest houses I was ever in. That was one fun day...
We took the grandsons to the movie "Toy Story" and one night we took them to Putt-Putt. Bud has been golfing with Rob and to car shows with Steve and Scott.
I have been trying new recipes and eating lots of wonderful corn and tomatoes. Oh, they are so good here in Michigan.
Also when you have two houses there is always repairs to be done. We had four new windows put in our family room. Now you can actually see out of the windows. Bud had to fix my Jeep after our accident on the way home from Florida. We took the money and he did the work.
The worst thing to happen was the lost of my son's father-in-law. It sure hit the family hard but I sure hope he knew how many friends and family he actually had. It was the biggest funeral I have ever attended.
I have to add this, I went to Bingo and won $60.00 and Linda won $100. That doesn't happen very often..
It has been very hot here this summer with very little rain.
Today Pam and I met with my sister-in-law and had a nice lunch and then watched a video. I sure wanted to see her before I left.
Well it is getting late and I didn't sleep too good last night. So I am signing off for tonight.

Busy Busy Busy

After shuffleboard all of went to Bob Evans to eat to celebrate another shuffleboard season come and gone. We finished about fourth from the bottom. Oh well, there is always next year.
On Friday the entire neighborhood went to the Olive Garden for dinner and then over to Bob and Meridith's for dessert. What a nice evening we all had.
On Saturday we golfed at Pelican, I should have stayed home, it is such a hard course, way too many sand traps, water and brush to go over. Then we didn't go to lunch with everyone but instead hurried over to the Polo Field for a golf cart poker run for charity with the Parrot Head Club. There were 900 golf carts entered and then they had hot dogs, etc. for everyone. We were so hungry that at one of the stops, Arnold Palmer Golf Course we stopped and had hamburgers out on the patio. What a great view there is there. Then we continued the poker run. None of us had a good hand...Oh well, it was for charity.
On Sunday I worked, the busiest day for the season so far. It was Palm Sunday and sort of raining so we were packed to the max. In the evening we had our last night of bowling. Two of Jane's sons are in town and they came to cheer us on. They were even doing the wave. We took one game and total pins, losing the other two games, one by eight pins and one by nine pins. That really hurts.
On Monday I worked, my co-worker was sick so I had to do all the running, it was not pretty.
By the time I got home I was pooped.
Tuesday Bud worked at the neighbors and I spent the afternoon at the pool. How wonderful. We had a five thirty tee time at Walnut Grove with Pam and Rod. We played a scramble and they won by two strokes. What a nice golf course. Bud said we have played there before but I sure don't remember that. Then they came over to eat dinner, I had made home made vegetable soup and tuna fish sandwiches. Anna and Bill came over also and we talked until eleven o'clock. It was a great day.
Today I am doing laundry and getting ready to go to the pool..

Busy Days and Nights

On Monday I worked, very busy. In the evening we played golf at Hilltop.
Tuesday was our Red Hat event. We had lunch at Perkins and then had a speaker, a criminologist who lives in The Villages and wrote a mystery book. She was quite interesting and I bought her book, so far it is okay.
Wednesday was a nice day, Bud worked at the neighbors and I made homemade Macoroni and Cheese for our Ohio Buckeye potluck. We went to the meeting, the entertainment was okay but we have seen them before, which wouldn't be so bad if they would change their material. The food was good but I didn't win the raffle.
Today we are getting ready for our last shuffleboard day. Hope I do as well as last week. This morning I made my brownies so I can make "Death By Chocolate" for tomorrow night.

Wpderful Week

Friday was Bud's birthday so when I got home from work, I went to the pool and then we went to RJ Gator's with Bill and Anna. They have wonderful grouper. While I was at the pool the guys came and poured our cement. It sure didn't take them very long.
On Saturday we played golf with the neighborhood at Hawkes Bay. I golfed so good it scared me. Then we went to El Santiago Country Club for lunch, bad experience. We were the first to order and never got our food. Finally we got and I just took it home, we didn't have to pay for it. Barb and Dave were over for most of the evening, he really likes that Wii game.
Today I worked, very busy, it rained all day. Tonight we bowled and I bowled over my average every game, we took five points, two games and total pins. Now I am just relaxing and ready to go to bed...

Orange Blossom Opry-Great Entertainment

It is Thursday evening, we spent the day cleaning up from the party. The men came and got the driveway ready to pour the cement. After they left we just had time to get to our shuffleboard league. I could not do anything wrong today in shuffleboard, won all three games. That was the best I have played in a long time. It was quite chilly today again, that darn wind. I was glad to get home. We had leftovers from last night for dinner and then met Jim and Jane and her brothers and wife at the Orange Blossom Opry House. It was fantastic tonight. The talent there is amazing. One sixteen year old boy sang "The Tennessee Waltz" and he was outstanding. You wouldn't think a young kid would like those old songs. I know I sure love them, give an old county song anytime.
Now I have just talked to Aunt Susie about her trip to Ft. Myers and now I am going to get ready to go to bed and rest up for tomorrow.

A Wonderful Week in the Villages

I don't know where to start but I will try and remember what we have been doing. Eight of us went to the Florida Strawberry Festival on Thursday. We have had our tickets for a long time for the bus trip and the show so when it was pouring rain out we decided to just go, you can't get a refund. So it rained all the way there but when we got there it cleared up enough that we didn't get soaked and we got to see lots of exhibits and things. By the time the Oak Ridge Boys started their show, which is outside, it had started sprinkling again but not too bad. The show was as good as they ever were and it sure brought back lots of memories of when my kids were little when they sang "Elvira". We also celebrated Bud's birthday with cards and a cake. He is now sixty eight years old. Doesn't that sound ancient...
We golfed at Hilltop on Saturday and I got "Closest to the Pin". We had lunch at Orange Blossom Country Club.
On Sunday I worked and then we bowled. We only won one game...oh well.
Monday I worked,Tuesday we went to Jane's for breakfast so she could practice making omelets in a bag.
Wednesday was St. Patrick's Day, my favorite holiday in The Villages. We cooked in our big pot that we brought from home, corned beef, cabbage and carrots. There were twelve of us and we had a ball. We played corn hole, Wii bowling and went down to the square to see the parade. It was a wonderful day and when they they left, I was totally exhausted.
Today B & D Construction is getting our driveway ready to pour. It really irrates Bud that he can't do it himself, no tools etc. So we hired it done and he doesn't like to do that. We are now headed to Mulberry to play shuffleboard.

Welcome To The Family-Aaron Matthew

As of March 1st, we are great-grandparents of a little boy named Aaron Matthew who weighed in at six pounds, eleven ounces. Megan had a hard time with toxemia but now is okay and ready to take on the responsibily of a little boy. I can't wait to get home and hold him.
I haven't written before because I was waiting for some pictures.
Last week was kind of a blur, busy as usual. We golfed at Hilltop on Saturday, had lunch at Orange Blossom Country Club, in the evening we went to a fundraiser that was suppose to have been blue grass music and they didn't show. It was good but not what I expected.
Worked like a dog on Sunday, busy, busy, busy. Got home, Bud made dinner and I took a nap so I could go bowling. It must have helped because I bowled a 155, very good for me. We only won one game....
On Monday I worked and then went and got Pam's renters their guest passes. In the evening the whole gang went to Jane's for a souper supper. Their were twelve of us and we had bean soup, split pea soup, salad, brushetta, rolls, and brownies. It was a lot of fun and very good.
Today I had plans to go to the pool since yesterday while I was working the sun was shining and it was beautiful out. Well, today it was a little windy and cloudy and kind of warm but not exactly pool weather for me. I went anyway and stayed about two hours. Bud worked on his Michigan corn hole game and now we are just relaxing in front of the boob tube.

Visited Ft. Myers

I worked on Sunday, bowled and worked on Monday. As soon as I got home we left for Ft. Myers to stay with Don and Twyla for a few days. On Tuesday we helped them with a few things and then ten people came for dinner. Wednesday twelve of us went to the Broadway Palm Dinner Theater to see the King and I. It was a glorious production and we all enjoyed it. Thursday we cooked again and had ten people over for a potluck dinner and we had fun eating, talking and playing WII. We left at seven and got home around eleven o'clock. I fell into bed because I had to go to work today. It wasn't all that busy and we had lots of help so she asked me if I wanted an early day and I jumped at that.
So this afternoon I kind of took it easy, did my WII Fit exercises and did some errands.
We just took our showers and are now watching TV. I love to go visiting but it is so nice to be home....

Raining in The Villages-No Golf Today

Boy, we were all set to play at Briarwood this morning with twenty of our neighbors and guess what, it is raining again. It was also quite cool. It's no fun to play in the rain so they cancelled it. We just stayed home and played our new WII, did our excercises, played golf, bowling and some others.
We also watched some movies, went to Lowe's for paint for our new cornhole game Bud is making and made homemade vegetable soup.
Now I think I will take a bath so I can go to work tomorrow.

Friday Night with the Neighbors

We spent a relaxing day after Gary and Pat left, just kind of sat around and watched TV and cleaned up the kitchen and made salsa.
Tonight twenty four of our neighbors went to Margaritaville for dinner. It is so nice to see everyone laugh and talk and have a good time. John went to every house and I got the reservation. I think John should run for mayor of Tangerine Drive. He knows everyone and really keeps things together.
After dinner Meredith, Bobby, Nancy, Harley, Karen, Louie and John came over and we drank, ate popcorn and played WII. It was nice and they all really liked the house. Nancy said it really spoiled her and she hasn't ever seen one that looks this nice. It made us feel really good that all of our hard work really shows. Tomorrow we are golfing again at Briarwood and it is suppose to be quite cool in the morning. Guess I'll have to wear some extra clothes.

Having a Great Time

Since Gary and Pat have been here we have bowled on our Sunday night league, went to the driving range, golfed three times, went to a concert, had many, many good dinners out, went shopping, explored the Villages on golf cart from one end to the other, had friends over to the house, the guys went to the Old Tyme Cowboy movie club, the girls watched "Amelia" at Jane's house, we played WII and I let Gary take my place at shuffleboard and he had two wins and one loss, went to the pool and hot tub and now I am getting ready to fix their farewell breakfast as they have to leave by noon.
I am totally exhausted but it is a good tired..They really enjoyed themselves. Gary even ran into people he knew from General Motors and they assured him he would love it here. One guy said,"You never even have to leave the compound."

A Beautiful Day in The Villages

We had a wonderful day today. I made the best breakfast casserole this morning. It had bacon, roasted peppers, chili peppers, onions, eggs, bread, milk and chili powder. It was deemed a success.
We had to wait to get another estimate on our driveway extension before we could go running around this morning. We did all the stores in Spanish Springs and then we had a little lunch at TooJays. Their corn beef sandwiches are the greatest.
I bought a floor lamp at Kirkland's and Gary bought two new golf clubs at Golf USA so we had to take the golf carts home and come back with the car and my coupon for Kirklands. Then I had to buy show tickets for Pam's March renter because he was afraid all the seats would be gone by the time he got here and he was probably right. He wanted three shows and the one was almost sold out already.
We got a 5:30 tee time at El Santiago and we played a best ball scramble and came in one under par. We ate dinner at the El Santiago Country Club and then we hurried home, got our suits on and hit the pool and hot tub for a about an hour.
I just finished making a pecan roll for breakfast and now I am ready to hit the rack.
Gary and Pat are extremely excited about this place. Gary is in hog heaven,he loves it...Wouldn't that be nice if they could be here...

Too Busy To Blog Again

I am a real slacker about this blogging lately but it seems like I just run out of steam at night when I usually blog.
We did have our digital scrapbooking competition and I won third place for my greeting card and first place for my seasonal entry. And guess what--my seasonal entry took Best Of Show out of 225 entries.
We have been doing so many things I can't even remember them anymore but I know we have been golfing, playing shuffleboard, bowling and going out to eat. We also went to Catfish Johnny's at Lake Panasofee for a country music jam and the best fish I have had in a long time. It was a great day.
It has been so busy at work when I get home, I just collapse. Today we had a fund-raiser for Relay for Life and we were swamped. When I got home we tried to go golfing but then it started to rain so we only got in three holes but I did get a par on the first hole at Hill Top.
Our good friends from Holly Michigan are here for a week and so tomorrow we will try and golf again. Tonight we took them to Katie Belle's for the Donna Moore and Dunning Shaw show. It is so good. She can really sing and he is fabulous. It is just a really feel good show.
Just before we left Evelyn called and said Megan was in the hospital because her blood pressure was up and they might have to induce labor. I pray that everything is alright with her and the baby. By the time you read this I might be a great-grandmother.
Well, I am going to bed, it has been one long day....

Golfing in the Rain

On Friday I worked, extremely busy..In the evening we went with all the neighborhood to Katie Belle's and had a nice dinner. I truly believe it is the best in the Villages. Great entertainment and good food. On Saturday we golfed at Hill Top but it started spinkling about the fourth hole.We played closest to the pin on hole seven so by the time we got there it was really raining so we hit out balls, didn't get close enough and quit and went in the Orange Blossom Country Club for lunch. By that time it was pouring...
It was so lousy out that we went to Block Busters, got movies, made popcorn and Bill, Anna, Rod and Pam all came to our house for an afternoon and evening of movies. We saw "Hangover", a comedy that is getting rave reviews but I wasn't that impressed. Then we saw "Hurt Locker", again great reviews, even a best picture nomination but not my kind of movie. But we had fun..
Sunday I worked and then we went bowling. We bowled very, very good and took five points from a great team. Jane was in Tampa but she would have been proud of us.
Monday it rained again!!!Busy, Busy at work, I even went two hours early..My dogs were barking when I got home. In the evening I worked on my digital scrapbooking for Wednesday. Today I made homemade vegtable soup because it was a good day for soup because it rained all day again...The sun came out about two o'clock and we headed to Lake Sumter on the golf cart to go to the scrapbooking store. I needed some things for a mixed media page and boy that stuff is expensive. Now I know why I switched to digital.I spent the whole evening on my pages but I now have all ten done so I don't have to rush in the morning. Wish me luck!!!

I Am A Blogger Slacker

I have not blogged since last week, I have been a bad girl. It seems like I never have enough time to attend to everything I have to do.
I worked on Sunday and Monday, very, very busy. On Tuesday we had our Christmas in January with the Red Hats. They are a nice bunch of ladies..In the evening Jerry and Jean Wessel had us over to their motorhome for dinner. They are only twelve miles away from us so we will probably see them often. We played WII and had a good time.
Wednesday we finished the final touches on Pam's house and it is ready for renters. In the evening we attended the Ohio Club with Pam and Rod and Eva and Bill. Lots of folks there, way too many for the amount of food brought in for the potluck. We were the next to last table to be called so needless to say we didn't get much but we had a good time.
Today we played shuffleboard and I did not win any games. Bud won one game but as a team we took fourteen out of twenty-four points.Tonight we are just chilling out and watching TV. I am working on some things for my digital scrapbooking competition with is next Wednesday...

Busy Week Again

Our good friend Dallas came to spend a few days with us and to scope out The Villages he has heard so much about. We took him on the trolley ride and all around and then we went to Katie Belle's for dinner and entertainment.
Me and Bud played shuffleboard on Thursday but just after we started it began to rain so they cancelled the games. It was really windy and about 6 p.m. it rained cats and dogs.
On Friday I worked and Bud and Dallas played golf. In the evening we took him, JoAnn and Leo to the SunRise Cafe to see "Last Time Out". They were great and the food was also pretty good.
Saturday we golfed with the neighborhood. They needed two subs so I asked Jane and Rod to play and don't you know it, they won all the money.
Tonight we got a dollar movie and went to Jane's house. It was called "Trucker" and sort of slow. Not the worse movie I have ever seen, not the best either.
Now I am relaxing and getting ready to go to bed...

Beautiful Tuesday

Well, it is a beautiful day in The Villages again. The weather has straightened itself out and it was warm and sunny all day.
I went to digital scrapbooking and out to lunch with Marguarite at Bob Evans. I like to eat there even thought I work there. I never get to eat while I am working. My boss walked by our table and took our bills and said she would take care of them. How about that! Then I went to Walmart, so busy there wasn't even any parking places. There must have been twenty five people in line at the pharmacy. As soon as I drove in the driveway John came over and said "Let's go for a walk so by the time we walked up the street once we had eight of the neighbors joining us. This is a wonderful neighborhood. Tonight we attended the Michigan Club. The entertainment was good but we have seen this group twice before and they never change their songs. Oh well, we will know better next time..
I just got off the phone with Aunt Susie or should I say Skype. It was so good to talk to her in person. She will be having her operation on Friday and Deano is coming up from Florida. That made her very happy.

Busy Week

It been a busy and long week here and I haven't had time to write. I did so many things I can't remember all of them but I will try. I worked on Monday. On Tuesday I did errands, and worked on Pam's house. We now have her kitchen done and it looks great. Her back splash really did the trick.
Thursday we shuffleboaded and we both won two games. On Friday I worked and then went to Bingo at Paradise. I didn't win...again.
On Saturday we golfed and I played quite well for me. As a team we were even so I don't think we won any thing. We didn't go to lunch as we hurried home and then eight of us went to Altamonte Springs to the IMAX theater to see AVATAR. It was better than I thought it would be but it definitely not my kind of movie. The special effects were wonderful and it even shook the seats. We had dinner at the Elephant Bar and it was great. On the way home we got pulled over by the cops for speeding. Jim was driving and he was very lucky, the cop didn't give him a ticket. He was going 62 in a 45 and it was raining. Every time we go somewhere the cops stop us...Ha Ha..
Today I worked, extremely busy. Tonight we bowled and took two games and total pins. Now I am going to watch NCIS and go to bed...

Baby, It Is Cold Outside

On Sunday we bowled, had a good time. I worked on Monday and it was very cold outside so in The Villages, if you can't golf, bike or play pickleball you eat. It was busy...
Monday night I just stayed home. I could have went and played Bunco but I really just wanted to stay home...what am I saying??? I must be getting old..
Tuesday we did some more shopping at Lowe's for Pam's house and then Jim and Jane came over so I could help her with her project on the computer. It was very cold again today and they say it will be cold all week. The sun is shining so it doesn't feel that bad. They have had to close some schools because they are just not set up for this kind of weather, no heat. If we were in Michigan, people would think this was spring. Ha Ha...
We were told to cover all of our plants and bushes. This is a picture, isn't it funny...

Starting the New Year

Well, everyone is gone now, Pam left this morning. I sure hated to see her go, we had so much fun. We also did lots of work on her house. It is almost done. We had a wonderful New Year's Eve. We saw Lori Gill who protrays Pasty Cline and she was wonderful. Then we all went to Rod and Pam's house and played WI. We had a ball. However, getting home at 2 a.m. and having to be at work by 7 a.m. is not too much fun at my age. I used to be able to do that with no problem but it will probably be a long time before I do that again.
On New Year's day Anna and Bill had everyone over for pork and sour kraut to bring us all good luck. Us girls went to the square to dance a few and get the movie tickets for tomorrow night.
A cold snap is hitting Central Florida and it was quite chilly on Saturday morning so they canceled our golf outting. If we hadn't of been playing so early we would have played once it warmed up. So instead we attended the craft show at Spanish Springs, they have wonderful things. In the evening we went to the movies to see "It's Complicated". It was pretty good. Then Pam had her last meal at TooJays.
Bud took her to the airport this morning and I used John's car to go to work. Boy, do I like that car, makes mine feel worse than ever. We were extremely busy and the day went by really fast.
Tonight we started bowling on the Michigan Club league at Fiesta Bowl. We didn't bowl too bad but we won't know if we won any until next week.
Now I am going to go and sit so I can go to work again tomorrow. Oh, happy day....
